HEALTH (Very little homework, must study to prepare for assessments)

This year, our classes will meet for 6 weeks (about 16-18) classes. Then rotate to Fitness.

6th Grade:

 This year we will be covering 6 different units in Health, which include:

1)Social Health/Emotional/Self-Esteem/Wellness

2)Personal Safety/Nutrition-Food Plate/Food Labels/Nutrients

3)Tobacco/Smoking/FLASH-puberty/reproductive systems/decision making skills

 

Within each unit there are standards that we will achieve. To guide us to mastering those standards, we will have a Learning Target set for each day. This way, students can hold a conversation at home about what they learned in class that day.

 

 

7th Grade:

Here is a list of the units we will be covering this year in class:

1)Wellness/Nutrition

2)Social/Emotional/Alcohol

3)FLASH/Human Growth and Development, reproductive systems/First Aid

 

Within each unit there are standards that we will achieve. To guide us to mastering those standards, we will have a Learning Target set for each day. This way, students can hold a conversation at home about what they learned in class that day.

 

8th Grade:

1) Wellness/Social/Emotional/Nutrition 

2) Body Systems (Skeletal, Muscular, Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Nervous.)/Disease Prevention

3 )Drugs/Alcohol (how they impact your body and mind)/FLASH (STI's, pregnancy, parenting project, cost of a baby)
